Prelude 12/21

This is what I thought,
I thought you need me,
This is what I thought so think me naive,
I promised you a heart you'd promise to keep,
Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep

Albert Camus said: Blessed are the hearts that can bend; they shall never be broken.

It's all ending....

And with a sale!!!! Yes, this is about One Tree Hill. So read, don't read, roll your eyes, or in the words of OTH "You can go Brooke yourself" LMAO!!! :) OH & WARNING spoilers are included!!!!

Tomorrow is the last day of filming of OTH. Seeing the tweets, blogs, pics & videos makes it so much harder for a fan of 9 seasons now to say "GoodNightTreeHill"

As the days have grown closer SO many OTH stars are making their way back. Each day we've heard of another star coming back!!! Yes, Chad Michael Murray (Luke) is back for an episode. Also this season we will have other returns. Tyler Hilton (Chris Keller), Paul Johansson (Dan Scott), Barbara Alyn Woods (Deb Scott), Antwon Tanner (Skills), & Gavin DeGraw (Who's song "I Don't Wanna Be" made him famous as the OTH Theme Song) will perform on the finale!!!
Also some new comers Chelsea Kane (DWTS) will be a competitor against the ever loving Karen's Cafe. Plus after all these years we will finally meet Brooke's dad played by Richard Burgi.

So what is in store for Season 9? So much has been spilled. But, the real question (that is so tight lipped) is: WHO IS LYING ON THE MORGUE TABLE????
None of the stars of the show spilled during the October 30th event "An Evening With One Tree Hill". But, since learning that James Lafferty (Nathan) would be on the finale. Rumors of his demise were quickly squashed!!!

Guess we'll just have to wait till the show premiers on Jan 11th to start finding out what & who all happens. Including are there going to be any psycho's this season. On that note is everybody else still trying to get use to Crazy Nannie Carrie being married to Stefan Salvatore? OMG REALLY!!!!! Now she's going to be on TVD!!!!! Well I guess if Alaric will need more help in Mystic Falls who better to help. She can kidnap you, hit you with a car, drug you, chase you through a corn field & try to kill you with an axe!!! LOL

Now the question I have is WHY???? Why couldn't I have lived in NC? I could have been among the 300 extras needed in the finale!! I could have went to An Evening With One Tree Hill!!! And WHY do I have to be so broke????? Over 15,000 items from the OTH set is being auctioned off during 2 weekend sales in Dec.!!!!!!!! (Yes I am whining now!!! lol) While some people would love Brooke's bedroom suite or Naley's livingroom furniture. I just want those damn signs lol. The "Tric Crystal" that sits behind the bar, the "Red Bedroom Records sign" & the infamous "Somebody told me that this is a place where everything's better and everything's safe" sign from Karen's Cafe!!!!! Guess I better save up & start watching eBay!!!! lol

So 1 more spoiler for those who haven't heard. Music is such a way of life in OTH that it's a cast member of it's own. The cast members who have performed on the show, the artists who have performed on the show & the musicians who's music has been heard all during the last 8 years!!! (Can't wait to hear, literally, what is in store for Season 9)!!! As most know, except for the pilot episode, all episodes are either named after a song or album title. We all know how Mark Schwann (creator, writer, director) ended up naming the show OTH, after U2's album Joshua Tree. It only seems fitting that the Last Episode's title will be: "One Tree Hill"!!!!

So as we wait for Season 9 to start & filming to finish, here are some photos to remind us....

Silent Night

We all have those moments with music. The ones that stick with us forever. Something happened in that moment that stays with you for all of eternity. I've had many, but this post is for a specific one.
It was February 4, 1987. I was just shy of my 17th birthday. It was my first concert & my first Bon Jovi concert. The Slippery When Wet tour with Cinderella opening.  I remember sitting in the arena for the first time with thousands of people and being in awe. Having no idea of the magic that was really about to happen.
The songs played were the ones that catapulted Bon Jovi into fame. Then there were the songs that as a fan now never get played. One of those being Silent Night.
It was about half way through the setlist. Jon rode the zip line above the audience to a scaffolding towards the end of the arena. After finishing the current song the stage lights went down. Only to slowly come up again as the opening chords of Silent Night began. Now being a Jonny's Girl of course I was more focused on him. However, it was almost immediate that something magical was happening. Watching Jon sing & play guitar touched my soul. Turning to see Richie playing guitar at center stage was breath taking. It wasn't just some ordinary performance. They both drew you in, in such a way you didn't know who to watch. It was like being at a tennis match. My head turning to look at Jon in the back & Richie in the front. You could feel the energy of the whole arena taking it all in. Then came the guitar solo.
Jon in back playing. Richie up stage playing. Holding their guitars up as in a duel as they pulled everyone in that arena into the middle of them with only their guitars guiding your soul. I could feel the crowd around me, but at the same time I felt like I was the only person there watching.
Then Jon started singing again. I remember tears streaming down my face. I didn't want that song & moment to end even though I knew it was coming.
It was so magical yet tragic at the same time. That performance was completely transcendent. I have never been the same since. To this day I can not listen or watch any video of Silent Night without being transported back to that night. Twenty-four years later the feelings & memories of that performance has stayed with me so vividly. I can't even pass that old arena, that they don't use for concerts anymore, without thinking of it. That night with my friends & that not so popular song leaving a profound affect on me for the rest of time.
I believe that that is the way you fall in love with a song. When it leaves it's mark on your soul. That's when you feel the most alive with music.

After the smoke clears
When it's down to you and I
When the sun appears
And there's nothing left but goodbyes
We'll just turn and walk away
How could we let it end like this
Just turn and walk away
Should we seal it with a kiss
It's too late
Now you're out and on the run
It's too late
Held up in love without a gun
Silent night
We hold up our candle light
Silent night
The night our love died
No words to say
And we're both too tired to fight
Just hold me close and don't let go...
It was all so simple when
You were to be queen and I'd be your king.
I guess those dreams got lost
Cause baby you're still you and I'm still me.
Now letting go
It's always the hardest part to fight
When we both know
We're just two more victims of the night
It's too late
Too late to wonder why
Much too late
To save a love that's died.
Silent night
We hold up our candle light
Silent night
The night our love died
No words to say
Now we're both too tired to fight
Just hold me close and don't let go
Just hold me close and don't let me go
After the smoke cleared
It was down to you and I
When the sun appeared
There was nothing left but goodbyes...
Silent night

Let Me Fall

It's October again
Leaves are coming down
One more year's come and gone
And nothing's changed at all
Wasn't I supposed to be someone
Who can face the things that I've been running from...

Let me feel, I don't care if I breakdown
Let me fall, even if I hit the ground
And if I...
Cry a little
Die a little
At least I know I lived, just a little...

I've become much too good at being invincible
I'm an expert at play it safe, and keep it cool
But I swear this isn't who I'm meant to be
I refuse to let my life roll all over me...

Let me feel, I don't care if I breakdown
Let me fall, even if I hit the ground
And if I...
Cry a little
Die a little
At least I know I lived, just a little...

I wanna be somebody
I, I wanna be somebody
I wanna be somebody
I, I wanna be somebody who can face the things that I've been running from

Let me feel, I don't care if I breakdown
Let me fall, even if I hit the ground
And if I
Cry a little
Die a little
At least I know I lived...

It's October again
Leaves are coming down
One more year's come and gone
And nothing's changed at all
